10:00 AM - 3:30 PM Cradles to Crayons- Brighton
volunteers will be sorting and putting together gift bags of clothes, toys and books for children in the great Boston area.
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM Friends of the Homeless of the South Shore
This agency consists of a food pantry, a clothing closet, a furniture bank and housing for homeless families.
Volunteers will assist with a variety of task from yard work to painting to repair work on shelters.
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Undergraduate Admission Tour
A student-guided tour is a wonderful way to see Babson’s extensive facilities (including a residence hall, classroom, and dining hall), talk with current students, and see our community in action. 

Pre-registration is not required. Tours depart from the Lunder Admission Center at Mustard Hall. Parking is available in designated spaces in the Lunder Parking Lot or Knight Parking Lot. When you arrive, please see the receptionist in the admission office for a parking permit. Click here for information on getting to campus.

Hosted by the admission staff, group information sessions are a great way to learn about Babson. We welcome prospective students and their families to attend a session to learn about Babson’s unique curriculum, student life, and the admission process. 

Information sessions are held in the Lunder Admission Center at Mustard Hall. Parking is available in designated spaces in the Lunder Parking Lot or Knight Parking Lot. When you arrive, please see the receptionist in the admission office for a parking permit. Click here for information on getting to campus.

Join Babson College and Breakaway for the Babson Breakaway Challenge Finale - a fast paced, public event where Challenge finalists will pitch to a panel including HUBweek Chair Linda Pizzuti Henry, Breakaway President John Burns, Founder and Managing Director of Boston Seed Capital, LLC Nicole M. Stata, and Founder and CEO of Pantegrion Capital Alicia Syrett.

A keynote address will be given by Sue Siegel, CEO of GE Ventures, GE’s growth and innovation business.

The Babson Breakaway Challenge was created by Susan Duffy, executive director at Babson’s Center for Women's Entrepreneurial Leadership, and John Bur​ns, in direct response to Babson’s Diana Project report, Women Entrepreneurs 2014: Bridging the Gender Gap in Venture Capital (pdf). The research revealed that while women entrepreneurs are majority owners of nearly 36 percent of all U.S. businesses, they receive only 2.7 percent of all venture capital funding.

Prizes:
$250,000 in funding plus marketing services, including the creation of a customized brand identity platform from Breakaway;

- In-kind prizing from Comcast including a three-month advertising campaign in the Boston DMA; production of one thirty-second commercial; and more;

- $6,000 in email delivery and management services from SendGrid for the winner; $3,000 for each semi-finalist;

- $1,000 in MOO print and design products for the winner, plus $250 for each runner-up;

- Complimentary legal automation services for the winner from Shoobx;

- Use of shared workspace at WeWork​ for finalists to prepare for the Finale event on September  30

The Babson Breakaway Challenge is the first and only competition to promote gender parity in the VC industry and award $250,000 to a high-potential, women-led business.

This weekly meditation class will be led by Babson’s Meditation Instructor, Chris Scheller, who will guide participants through a variety of accessible, secular meditation techniques adapted from the Buddhist tradition. These simple and direct practices cultivate relaxation, mindfulness, and basic wellbeing. By relaxing tension and opening to our sensory experience through these techniques, participants will learn new means of working with stress, difficult emotions, physical discomfort, and the challenges we encounter in our lives. This class is suitable for any experience level.

Nashville-based singer-songwriter and Babson alum Jamie Kent ’09 returns to campus for a concert, CD release party, and conversation about the business of music. With a sound that incorporates country, folk and rock, Jamie and his band have toured with Huey Lewis & The News, The Doobie Brothers, America, and Foreigner. He is supported by The Collective, a grassroots group of fans who help advise and fund his career in exchange for access to exclusive music, merchandise, and votes in the major decisions he makes.

The First Year Service in Action Program engages students in their first year with multiple service opportunities on campus. Opportunities include events with Community Action Programs,  Cradles to Crayons, and additional programs sponsored by the Office of Faith and Service.

Meeting time will be at 12:45pm in the Reynolds Campus center

Babson volunteers will teach middle school children of the housing authority how to organize and run a business.
