12:00 PM - 1:00 PM KGA Webinar - Harnessing the Power of your Emotional Intelligence
Harnessing the Power of your Emotional Intelligence
Presented by Mary-Ellen Rogers, Excellere
For most of us, our IQ, or Intelligence Quotient, represents only about 10% of the impetus for our achievements both personally and professionally. Our EQ, otherwise known as Emotional Quotient, or our ability to understand, empathize and negotiate with others, is a primary predictor of our success, both in life and at work. In this session we will define emotional intelligence, explore the four components of emotional intelligence, and learn to self-assess and regulate our own emotional responses.

12:00 PM - 12:45 PM Wellness - Come as You Are Tai Chi
Tai Chi is a gentle exercise for body and mind.  With its roots in Chinese martial arts and traditional Chinese medicine, Tai Chi uses slow and gentle movements to build your balance, strength, flexibility and focus.  No matter your age or physical condition, you can practice Tai Chi.  Scientific studies support the effectiveness of Tai Chi in improving the lives of people with chronic conditions, such as arthritis, diabetes, and osteoporosis.  Most of all, Tai Chi is relaxing and fun.  So come as you are, in comfortable clothes, with flat-soled shoes.  You will learn the basic principles of Tai Chi as well as exercises and a short form you will be able to practice on your own.  The course will be taught by faculty member Carolyn Hotchkiss, who has studied Yang and Sun style Tai Chi for five years, and is certified to teach Tai Chi for Arthritis.

6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Augmented Reality: Entrepreneurial Opportunities and Challenges
The Blank Center is hosting its first event at Babson's new Boston campus at 100 High Street!

Pokémon Go’s global success has revealed the business potential of augmented reality (AR). The technology has become the first widely-adopted AR implementation. Despite glitches and performance issues, Pokémon Go’s app has reached a critical technology maturity level that, combined with a well-thought value proposition, serves as an initial proof-of-concept with great potential for monetization. Entrepreneurs interested in entering the AR space need to understand the unique business and revenue models enabled by AR technologies, and the challenges to the emergent AR enterprises—particularly those related to customer privacy.

Our panel will feature:
Sarah Downey
Principal, Accomplice

Ruben Mancha
Professor, Babson College

Ross Finman
Founder, AR Spirit
