Exhibit on View: September 10- October 20
Artist Talk and Reception: September 10, 5pm
Hollister Gallery

In 2011, photographer Jessamyn Lovell’s identity was stolen by a woman named Erin Coleen Hart. Dear Erin Hart, is the body of work made by Lovell in response to the identity theft and the crimes committed in her name. In order to understand her transgressor’s actions and motivation, the artist documented relevant places, interviewed witnesses, hired a private investigator, and surveilled Erin Hart, photographing her as she was released from jail. Using photography, video and other means to document and understand the full arc of the identity theft, Lovell gained empathy for her identity thief.
