10:00 AM - 11:00 AM ET&A Challenge - Creating Champions for Babson Philanthropy

As shared at the July Employee Coffee, HR is partnering across campus to present ET&A Challenges as opportunities to 1) practice our Entrepreneurial Thought & Action™ skills together and, 2) assist a colleague or department in achieving an important goal. It’s a challenge where everyone wins! Here’s our next challenge:

DATE:  August 9th from 10:00-11:00 AM in Trim 202
‚Äč
HOST:  Advancement

CHALLENGE:  We face a bold and ambitious goal to double participation rate from 20% to 40% by 2023 as part of the Centennial strategy. To achieve that goal, we need your help to answer the question – What does it take to create champions for Babson philanthropy?

PARTICIPANT ROLE:  There is no preparation necessary. Bring your creativity, a hunger to practice ET&A, and your desire to aid our Advancement team in brainstorming ideas on how to create a cadre of champions.

12:00 PM - 12:45 PM Wellness - Come as You Are Tai Chi
Tai Chi is a gentle exercise for body and mind.  With its roots in Chinese martial arts and traditional Chinese medicine, Tai Chi uses slow and gentle movements to build your balance, strength, flexibility and focus.  No matter your age or physical condition, you can practice Tai Chi.  Scientific studies support the effectiveness of Tai Chi in improving the lives of people with chronic conditions, such as arthritis, diabetes, and osteoporosis.  Most of all, Tai Chi is relaxing and fun.  So come as you are, in comfortable clothes, with flat-soled shoes.  You will learn the basic principles of Tai Chi as well as exercises and a short form you will be able to practice on your own.  The course will be taught by faculty member Carolyn Hotchkiss, who has studied Yang and Sun style Tai Chi for five years, and is certified to teach Tai Chi for Arthritis.
