All Day ONE Week (Multi-Day Event)

Origins of Necessary Equality (ONE) is one of Babson College’s largest multicultural organizations. ONE strives to serve the Babson community by fostering an environment where individuals from various origins can come together and share once in a lifetime experiences in a community that supports one another and celebrates the culture that he/she represents. The community as a whole can then embark on a journey together to create new memories through living and learning in an academic community while giving back to Babson through various events and programs.

ONE Week will serve as a platform to continue developing Babson’s cosmopolitan community. Guest speakers, workshops, discussions, social gatherings, and other such events will take place throughout this week to accomplish our three main goals:

1.To educate the community about the significance of multiculturalism for business students entering a global industry.

2.To build strong bonds between the students, staff, and faculty of Babson’s community.

3.To inspire students and faculty to use multiculturalism as a catalyst for entrepreneurial thought and action.

You can RSVP and learn more about each event here: https://www.facebook.com/BabsonONE/

12:00 PM - 12:45 PM Wellness - Come as You Are Tai Chi
Tai Chi is a gentle exercise for body and mind.  With its roots in Chinese martial arts and traditional Chinese medicine, Tai Chi uses slow and gentle movements to build your balance, strength, flexibility and focus.  No matter your age or physical condition, you can practice Tai Chi.  Scientific studies support the effectiveness of Tai Chi in improving the lives of people with chronic conditions, such as arthritis, diabetes, and osteoporosis.  Most of all, Tai Chi is relaxing and fun.  So come as you are, in comfortable clothes, with flat-soled shoes.  You will learn the basic principles of Tai Chi as well as exercises and a short form you will be able to practice on your own.  The course will be taught by faculty member Carolyn Hotchkiss, who has studied Yang and Sun style Tai Chi for five years, and is certified to teach Tai Chi for Arthritis.
