6:00 AM - 7:15 AM Wellness-Masters Swim
The Babson Masters Swim Program is a swim program for adults.  Some people use it for fitness or to have fun, while others use it to train to compete in swim meets or other competitions such as triathlons.  Each practice is guided by a swim coach, and instruction and feedback are offered to participants.
6:30 AM - 7:20 AM Wellness-Bootcamp
FACULTY AND STAFF
Boot Camp is a 50 minute, two day a week program designed to improve your cardio endurance, build strength and induce weight loss.  The personalized approach to group exercise makes the class fun and motivating in pursuit of results and your personal goals.  Instructor Craig Paris uses a variety of body weight exercises, resistance bands, agility drills, running, and plyometric training to activate multiple muscle groups and burn the maximum amount of calories during class.

The Zumba® program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away. Originally created by Alberto “Beto” Perez in Columbia, Zumba® is a Latin inspired dance fitness class that combines interval training sessions with fast and slow rhythms to sculpt and tone your body while burning fat.  Our goal is simple: We want you to want to work out, to love working out, and to get hooked.  Zumba® fanatics achieve long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in every calorie-burning, body-energizing class.  This class is perfect for all fitness levels and no dance experience is necessary!

3:40 PM - 4:30 PM Hockey Skating Skills - Spring Session (Thursday at 3:40pm)

Our Hockey class is designed to work on the skating skills without sticks. We are working to improve your basic skating edges, speed and power. Some skills/drills may utilize a hockey stick, but the primary focus is without a hockey stick.

 *Skaters are divided up by abilty and age

*We DO NOT guarantee that friends or siblings will have the same teacher

*Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early

*A parent/guardian MUST remain in the building during any and all classes

*The Babson Skating Center has a NO Refund or Credit policy. In the case of an injury, a Doctors note must be given to recieve a refund or credit

Learn to Skate+ (LTS+) – Ages 5 and older who have passed the Alpha Level and want to broaden their skills. These classes will incorporate Figures, Moves in the Field and Ice Dance Level 1 into their class: 40minute class. 10 minute practice following the class: Beta through Freestyle 3 Level

*Participants are divided based upon skating ability & Age.
*We DO NOT guarantee that siblings and/or friends will be in the same class.
*Please arrive early to allow time to secure skates and find your instructor.
*Helmets are strongly recommended for beginners.

Every Thursday, Babson volunteers serve about 100 meals to those in need and help clean up afterwards.
4:45 PM - 5:45 PM POWER YOGA exercise class
* Power Yoga is a Vinyasa-based flow yoga class where participants move through sequences of challenging poses using the breath for timing and power. It builds strength and flexibility throughout the entire body. Participant modifications and variations will be taught.

This agency consists of a food pantry, a clothing closet, a furniture bank, and housing for homeless families. Volunteers will assist with a variety of tasks from yard work to painting to repair work on shelters.

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Wellness-Meditation

This weekly meditation class will be led by Babson’s Meditation Instructor, Chris Scheller, who will guide participants through a variety of accessible, secular meditation techniques adapted from the Buddhist tradition. These simple and direct practices cultivate relaxation, mindfulness, and basic wellbeing. By relaxing tension and opening to our sensory experience through these techniques, participants will learn new means of working with stress, difficult emotions, physical discomfort, and the challenges we encounter in our lives. This class is suitable for any experience level.

Chris trained to teach meditation at Harvard University, where he received a Master of Divinity degree in 2009. He concentrated his studies on the intersection of meditation and psychology, as well as the history of meditation practices within the Buddhist tradition. He has studied at various ashrams and monasteries in India and the USA including the Tushita Meditation Centre, the Insight Meditation Society, the Zen Peacemakers, and lived and studied at the Cambridge Zen Center.

The Babson United Rugby Club is hosting a Rugby 7s Tournament on Saturday April 26th in order to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Tweleve sides will be present from 9 area teams and the tournament will run at the Harrington Rugby Pitch between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. We encourage everyone to come out and support the Babson United Rugby Club, but more importantly to participate in this event to help us raise awareness for Breast Cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Annual Alumni Rugby Matches are Back!

Babson United Rugby Club and Babson Women's Rugby, in conjunction with Babson College are pleased to invite Rugby Alumni back to campus to resume the annual celebration of Rugby Alumni Games on Sunday, April 27!

Please join us at the Charlie Harrington Memorial Pitch on the Babson College campus on Sunday anytime after 10:00am to begin warm up. Both Clubs are well into their Spring Seasons and look forward to reconnecting with Alumni.

Women's 6th Alumni Game at 11:00am
Undergraduates dominated Alumni contests in the first four years but Alumni won their first contest in 2011. Every year presents a new opportunity. Will Alumni continue evening the score, or will the current team chalk another win for the books?!

Men's 28th Alumni Game at 1:00pm
The men take the field at 1:00pm against BURC Alumni. In our 34th year, this is the 32nd year of Alumni Games. 26 matches have been played yielding a record of 9 Wins for Babson, 11 Wins for Alumni, 3 Ties, and 4 matcheswithout scores recorded. The last match was taken by Babson 36-17.  

Festivities for the 2014 Alumni Game include:
• 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. BBQ including assorted food and beverages
• The BURC/RAAC Alumni Jersey will be in play. Recent Alums should bring their own Jersey. The Club has a set of Team Jerseys for others who need one for the match.
• Award Presentations and Farewell to Graduating Seniors

Whether you're playing, watching, or just there to reconnect with teammates, please join us as we renew the annual challenge. See if you still have what it takes and make sure you prepare so you can enjoy the match! If you're beyond your playing years, bring your families so we can introduce the next generation to the best game in the world.

6:30 AM - 7:20 AM Wellness-Advanced Core Bootcamp
FACULTY AND STAFF ONLY
ACBC is a 50 minute, two day a week advanced conditioning program that focuses on reaching levels of fitness beyond what a standard Boot Camp will typically yield. Many of the techniques are direct from Kevin Kearns "Burn With Kearns" MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) conditioning program. Instructor Sonny Romano will utilize many of the training techniques used by professional UFC/MMA fighters. The class is a challenge but a lot of fun and as a bonus attendees will learn the basics of defending themselves while they get into tremendous physical condition.

Hear from Steve Papa, the founder of Endeca  what it takes to start a company and grow it to a billion dollar company that was acquired by Oracle in 2011. Steve Papa is an active founder, investor, board member and mentor sponsoring the creation of a wide variety of tech companies in software, mobile, and telecommunications. Steve founded the enterprise software company Endeca in 1999 and was its CEO until it was Oracle's 6th largest acquisition ever (reported at $1.1 billion on announcement in 2011). Endeca pioneered Guided Navigation, one of the leading search innovations of the decade, and made it an industry standard online. Endeca's solutions today play a key role in the online commerce, enterprise business intelligence and national security markets. Prior to its acquisition, Endeca had achieved $750M in cumulative worldwide revenue and 700 customers, and had built an exceptionally talented team of over 500 headquartered in Cambridge, MA. Endeca was named the fastest growing private company in Massachusetts by the Boston Business Journal and recognized as one of the winners of the E&Y EOY awards program. Prior to Endeca, Steve was a part of the original MIT $50K team creating Akamai, a member of the early team at Inktomi in charge of creating the company’s infrastructure caching business, and spent time at Teradata and also at Venrock, the Rockefeller Family's venture capital arm. The Babson Masters Swim Program is a swim program for adults.  Some people use it for fitness or to have fun, while others use it to train to compete in swim meets or other competitions such as triathlons.  Each practice is guided by a swim coach, and instruction and feedback are offered to participants.
6:30 AM - 7:20 AM Wellness-Bootcamp
FACULTY AND STAFF
Boot Camp is a 50 minute, two day a week program designed to improve your cardio endurance, build strength and induce weight loss.  The personalized approach to group exercise makes the class fun and motivating in pursuit of results and your personal goals.  Instructor Craig Paris uses a variety of body weight exercises, resistance bands, agility drills, running, and plyometric training to activate multiple muscle groups and burn the maximum amount of calories during class.

Tai Chi is a gentle exercise for body and mind.  With its roots in Chinese martial arts and traditional Chinese medicine, Tai Chi uses slow and gentle movements to build your balance, strength, flexibility and focus.  No matter your age or physical condition, you can practice Tai Chi.  Scientific studies support the effectiveness of Tai Chi in improving the lives of people with chronic conditions, such as arthritis, diabetes, and osteoporosis.  Most of all, Tai Chi is relaxing and fun.  So come as you are, in comfortable clothes, with flat-soled shoes.  You will learn the basic principles of Tai Chi as well as exercises and a short form you will be able to practice on your own.  The course will be taught by faculty member Carolyn Hotchkiss, who has studied Yang and Sun style Tai Chi for five years, and is certified to teach Tai Chi for Arthritis.

Our Hockey class is designed to work on the skating skills without sticks. We are working to improve your basic skating edges, speed and power. Some skills/drills may utilize a hockey stick, but the primary focus is without a hockey stick.

ACBC is a 50 minute, two day a week advanced conditioning program that focuses on reaching levels of fitness beyond what a standard Boot Camp will typically yield. Many of the techniques are direct from Kevin Kearns "Burn With Kearns" MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) conditioning program. Instructor Sonny Romano will utilize many of the training techniques used by professional UFC/MMA fighters. The class is a challenge but a lot of fun and as a bonus attendees will learn the basics of defending themselves while they get into tremendous physical condition.

8:00 PM - 10:00 PM A Divine Evening with Charles Busch

The acclaimed actor, playwright, drag legend, and camp icon brings his outrageous personal stories, characters, songs, and glamour. 

Charles Busch is the author and star of such plays as The Divine Sister, The Lady in Question, Red Scare on Sunset and Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, which ran five years and is one of the longest running plays in Off-Broadway history.  His play The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife ran for 777 performances on Broadway and won Mr. Busch the Outer Circle Critics John Gassner Award and received a Tony nomination for Best Play.  

He wrote and starred in the film versions of his plays, Psycho Beach Party and Die Mommie Die, the latter of which won him the Best Performance Award at the Sundance Film Festival.  In 2003, Mr. Busch received a special Drama Desk Award for career achievement as both performer and playwright. Mr. Busch made his directorial debut with the film A Very Serious Person, which premiered at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival, where it won an honorable mention.  He is also the subject of the documentary film The Lady in Question is Charles Busch.

Boot Camp is a 50 minute, two day a week program designed to improve your cardio endurance, build strength and induce weight loss.  The personalized approach to group exercise makes the class fun and motivating in pursuit of results and your personal goals.  Instructor Craig Paris uses a variety of body weight exercises, resistance bands, agility drills, running, and plyometric training to activate multiple muscle groups and burn the maximum amount of calories during class.

Jacki has worked in higher education for 24 years. After working in the Babson College Office of Undergraduate Admission for 10 years, she served as the Vice President for Enrollment at Newbury College for 7 years. She then served in a consultant capacity for 3 years, working at Boston College and Bentley University. Jacki has been at the College Board for 3 years as a Senior Educational Manager. She works with admission and financial aid offices across New England to support their enrollment goals. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Babson in 1989 and her Masters Degree in Higher Education Administration from Boston College in 1997.

This weekly meditation class will be led by Babson’s Meditation Instructor, Chris Scheller, who will guide participants through a variety of accessible, secular meditation techniques adapted from the Buddhist tradition. These simple and direct practices cultivate relaxation, mindfulness, and basic wellbeing. By relaxing tension and opening to our sensory experience through these techniques, participants will learn new means of working with stress, difficult emotions, physical discomfort, and the challenges we encounter in our lives. This class is suitable for any experience level.

Chris trained to teach meditation at Harvard University, where he received a Master of Divinity degree in 2009. He concentrated his studies on the intersection of meditation and psychology, as well as the history of meditation practices within the Buddhist tradition. He has studied at various ashrams and monasteries in India and the USA including the Tushita Meditation Centre, the Insight Meditation Society, the Zen Peacemakers, and lived and studied at the Cambridge Zen Center.

6:30 AM - 7:20 AM Wellness-Advanced Core Bootcamp
FACULTY AND STAFF ONLY
ACBC is a 50 minute, two day a week advanced conditioning program that focuses on reaching levels of fitness beyond what a standard Boot Camp will typically yield. Many of the techniques are direct from Kevin Kearns "Burn With Kearns" MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) conditioning program. Instructor Sonny Romano will utilize many of the training techniques used by professional UFC/MMA fighters. The class is a challenge but a lot of fun and as a bonus attendees will learn the basics of defending themselves while they get into tremendous physical condition.

The Babson Masters Swim Program is a swim program for adults.  Some people use it for fitness or to have fun, while others use it to train to compete in swim meets or other competitions such as triathlons.  Each practice is guided by a swim coach, and instruction and feedback are offered to participants.

FACULTY AND STAFF
Boot Camp is a 50 minute, two day a week program designed to improve your cardio endurance, build strength and induce weight loss.  The personalized approach to group exercise makes the class fun and motivating in pursuit of results and your personal goals.  Instructor Craig Paris uses a variety of body weight exercises, resistance bands, agility drills, running, and plyometric training to activate multiple muscle groups and burn the maximum amount of calories during class.

Tai Chi is a gentle exercise for body and mind.  With its roots in Chinese martial arts and traditional Chinese medicine, Tai Chi uses slow and gentle movements to build your balance, strength, flexibility and focus.  No matter your age or physical condition, you can practice Tai Chi.  Scientific studies support the effectiveness of Tai Chi in improving the lives of people with chronic conditions, such as arthritis, diabetes, and osteoporosis.  Most of all, Tai Chi is relaxing and fun.  So come as you are, in comfortable clothes, with flat-soled shoes.  You will learn the basic principles of Tai Chi as well as exercises and a short form you will be able to practice on your own.  The course will be taught by faculty member Carolyn Hotchkiss, who has studied Yang and Sun style Tai Chi for five years, and is certified to teach Tai Chi for Arthritis.

3:40 PM - 4:30 PM Learn To Skate--Spring Session (Tuesday's at 3:40pm)
Learn to Skate (LTS) – Ages 5 and older: 40minute class, 10minute practice following the class: Beginner through Freestyle 3 Level
Learn to Skate+ (LTS+) – Ages 5 and older who have passed the Alpha Level and want to broaden their skills. These classes will incorporate Figures, Moves in the Field and Ice Dance Level 1 into their class: 40minute class. 10 minute practice following the class: Beta through Freestyle 3 Level

*Participants are divided based upon skating ability & Age.
*We DO NOT guarantee that siblings and/or friends will be in the same class.
*Please arrive early to allow time to secure skates and find your instructor.
*Helmets are strongly recommended for beginners.
*Dress appropriately with layers and gloves or mittens.
*Properly fitted, supportive skates are essential to progress.
*Figure skates are recommended for beginners.

4:30 PM - 5:20 PM Hockey Skating Skills - Spring Session (Tuesdays at 4:30pm)

Our Hockey class is designed to work on the skating skills without sticks. We are working to improve your basic skating edges, speed and power. Some skills/drills may utilize a hockey stick, but the primary focus is without a hockey stick.

 *Skaters are divided up by abilty and age

*We DO NOT guarantee that friends or siblings will have the same teacher

*Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early

*A parent/guardian MUST remain in the building during any and all classes

*The Babson Skating Center has a NO Refund or Credit policy. In the case of an injury, a Doctors note must be given to recieve a refund or credit

*The Babson Skating Center has a NO MAKE UP policy

* Boot Camp is an intense calorie burning and muscular endurance workout which combines traditional callisthenic and body weight exercises with interval training, spinning, and strength training.  A fun way to get cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training all at the same time.

6:30 AM - 7:20 AM Wellness-Advanced Core Bootcamp
FACULTY AND STAFF ONLY
ACBC is a 50 minute, two day a week advanced conditioning program that focuses on reaching levels of fitness beyond what a standard Boot Camp will typically yield. Many of the techniques are direct from Kevin Kearns "Burn With Kearns" MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) conditioning program. Instructor Sonny Romano will utilize many of the training techniques used by professional UFC/MMA fighters. The class is a challenge but a lot of fun and as a bonus attendees will learn the basics of defending themselves while they get into tremendous physical condition.
