All Day Application for Degree Closes on May 7th! (Multi-Day Event)
May graduates must complete an Application for Degree. The application for degree allows students to enter the name they want printed on their diploma, the phonetic spelling of their name, and their anticipated graduation date. If the application is not completed by the deadline, the name on the diploma will be printed exactly as it appears on the student’s academic record. The Application for Degree is located in Portal under the Smart Tools, in the Academic section. If the Smart Tools section does not appear on Portal, drill down on Add Content located in the upper left corner of Portal (next to where it says Hello, Name!). Click Add under the Smart Tools section. If the Smart Tools section still does not appear, contact Support at 781-239-4357. (This is for graduate Students ONLY! If you are an undergraduate student please contact your class dean in Academic Services!)

Probable Summer (August) graduates may participate in the preceding May Commencement ceremony as walkers. The official graduation date for August graduates is August 31.

7:00 AM - 8:00 AM Wellness-Fitness Yoga

Faculty and Staff Only
In this vinyasa style of hatha yoga, we’ll move through yoga postures, integrating breath and movement, while focusing on body awareness and alignment.  Through this practice, participants will develop muscular strength, improve core conditioning, and increase their flexibility.  Incorporating both modifications and advanced postures, this class is geared towards all fitness levels.   Taught by Babson’s Laurel Aroian.

Who:  Anyone!

When:  Wednesdays from 7-8am beginning on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 and ending on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 in the Chandor Dance Studio.

Tired of trying to lose weight without success; or are you just looking to eat healthier?  Join the Whole New U Weight Loss Challenge, a weight loss and nutrition education program that will provide you with the skills to lose weight, change your eating habits, and practice a healthier lifestyle, free of charge!  By following the Whole New U program, you will learn the latest on nutrition and gain control over your own eating, without the unhealthy ups and downs of fad diets and expensive, ineffective weight loss programs.  You will learn how to improve eating habits, deal with weight plateaus, learn about emotional and binge eating, increase your energy and enjoy better overall health.   No points to count, no weigh in required!

Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual exercise that has been known to increase flexibility, strengthen muscles and provide relaxation.  Join Dawn George as she takes you through a series of slow yoga poses to help you relax and unwind from the stress of the day.  This class is perfect for all fitness levels and no experience is necessary.

Join Babson and Olin Colleges undergraduate and graduate communities to hear alumni discuss LGBT challenges they have faced in the workplace.  The alumni panel will share their personal experiences along with their best practices for navigating these unchartered waters.

Panelists:
Jeff Carbone '02
Jeff Carbone is an Associate Director of Admissions for the MIT Sloan School of Management where he is responsible for recruitment and yield strategy, as well as evaluating, interviewing, and admitting candidates. Prior to joining MIT Sloan, he worked for the Admissions Office at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, as a recruiter at Bain & Company, and in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Babson College. Jeff is a 2002 graduate of Babson where he was a member of the Swim Team, the Latin American Club, and AAP.

Michelle Dilanian M'13
Michelle currently works as an Applications Sales Representative for Oracle.  In this role, Michelle is responsible for growing business for named accounts in the financial vertical.  In her previous role as an Account Executive at Trusteer, Michelle assisted the President in rolling out a new Enterprise Division targeting enterprise clients across the country.  Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish with a minor in Economics from Mount Holyoke College.  Currently, Michelle is the acting Co-Chair VP of Evening students at Babson College Graduate School.  She began the Evening MBA Program at Babson in the summer of 2011.  In her free time, Michelle enjoys figure skating, running and spending time with family and friends.

Kristen Gambardella '12
Kristen is a recent Babson graduate who concentrated in Computational and Mathematical Finance. Since graduating, she has been working as an analyst at JP Morgan after having interned at the firm for the past two summers. While at Babson, Kristen was an active member of the Women’s Rugby club. In her free time, Kristen enjoys golfing, taking road-trips, and spending time with family. She is eager to discuss issues she has faced in various work environments.

Kenton Shirk M’13
For the past nine years, Kenton has worked at Commonwealth Financial Network, an independent broker/dealer in Waltham. In his current role, he is a Practice Management Consultant and Supervisor. He helps independent investment management and wealth management firms excel in their role as business leaders, consulting on a broad range of small business issues. Prior to joining Commonwealth in 2004, Kenton worked for a private equity funds-of-funds manager, BDC Financial. Kenton received his BS from Drexel University and he is currently enrolled in the Fast Track program at Babson College. He holds the FINRA Series 7, 24, 31, 63, and 65 securities registrations. A longtime runner, he has completed three marathons and two Half Ironman races.
