2016 Future of Wearables Scramble™ Powered by Verizon

8:00 AM - 1:00 PM Friends of the Homeless of the South Shore
This agency consists of a food pantry, a clothing closet, a furniture bank, and housing for homeless families. Volunteers assist with a variety of tasks from yard work to painting or repairs on the shelters.
8:00 AM - 2:00 PM Waste Audit & Tree Planting
Come out and volunteer at Babson's annual Tree Planting and Waste Audit. This year we will be planting trees, shrubs, and flowers around Tomasso Hall, as well as hosting a waste audit to study trash from nearby buildings. 

Volunteers can sign up here for both events.

9:30 AM - 1:30 PM Undergraduate Admission Preview Day
Preview Days are designed for prospective students and their families to experience Babson first-hand. You will learn about our unique, hands-on curriculum, become familiar with our admission process and requirements, hear current students and alumni speak about their Babson experience, tour our beautiful facilities, and have brunch at Trim Dining Hall. ​Registration opens at 9:30 AM, the program begins at 10:00 AM and will end by 1:30 PM.

Volunteers will be sorting and putting together gift bags of clothes, toys and books for children in the greater Boston area.
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Founder Fridays
Founder Fridays, hosted by the Blank Center, is where you will get to meet some of the most interesting founders, who will share their ups and downs, their mistakes and celebrations – all with #nofilter. Open and brutally honest, these founders will tell their real deal life experience of creating a startup.

Come relax and ease your mind and body with meditation every Friday afternoon in the Glavin Chapel.
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Wellness - Friday Meditation
This weekly meditation class will be led by Babson’s Meditation Instructor, Chris Scheller, who will guide participants through a variety of accessible, secular meditation techniques adapted from the Buddhist tradition. These simple and direct practices cultivate relaxation, mindfulness, and basic wellbeing. By relaxing tension and opening to our sensory experience through these techniques, participants will learn new means of working with stress, difficult emotions, physical discomfort, and the challenges we encounter in our lives. This class is suitable for any experience level.

Join Sorenson Center for the Arts and CWEL for a discussion with Carole Charnow, President and CEO of Boston Children's Museum. Charnow was formerly the General Director of Opera Boston and a driving force in its success. Her passion for education and effective collaborations has led to award-winning outreach and education programs throughout her career.

Winning in the nonprofit world. Carole Charnow is President and CEO of the Boston Children’s Museum, one of the largest, oldest, and most influential children’s museums in the world. Under her leadership, the Museum beat out 37 museums worldwide to win the 2015 Children in Museum Award for Lifetime Achievement. Carole will talk about leveraging her 30 years of experience leading cultural nonprofits in the US and UK to create strategic partnerships and transform the Museum’s cultural and science programming. Presented in partnership with CWEL.

1:15 PM - 2:00 PM Undergraduate Admission Information Session
Hosted by the admission staff, group information sessions are a great way to learn about Babson. We welcome prospective students and their families to attend a session to learn about Babson’s unique curriculum, student life, and the admission process. 

Information sessions are held in the Lunder Admission Center at Mustard Hall. Parking is available in designated spaces in the Lunder Parking Lot or Knight Parking Lot. When you arrive, please see the receptionist in the admission office for a parking permit. Click here for information on getting to campus.

A student-guided tour is a wonderful way to see Babson’s extensive facilities (including a residence hall, classroom, and dining hall), talk with current students, and see our community in action.

Babson volunteers will teach middle school children of the housing authority how to run and organize a business.
5:30 PM - 9:00 PM Shabbat Dinner Service
Join the community for Shabbat dinner and prayer every Friday night in the Glavin Chapel.
