Wellness - Stress Rescue Workshop

The workshop is held from 12-1 pm, and will be taught by Jordan Bain a Certified Modern Mystery School Guide & Healer and the Owner of Healing Boston, located in Auburndale, MA. He is passionate about exploring and sharing the best systems available for personal and planetary transformation. Since 2004, he has helped thousands of people awaken their potential and accelerate their learning curve in the school of life.

The workshop will guide participants to learn how to better handle and manage stress, come to a better understanding of the sources of stress, create a positive plan to harness stress for enhanced creativity, create win-win interpersonal and internal resolution of stress and gain an understanding of resources available to go on and do additional services outside of the seminar.

A student-guided tour is a wonderful way to see Babson’s extensive facilities (including a residence hall, classroom, and dining hall), talk with current students, and see our community in action. 

Pre-registration is not required. Tours depart from the Lunder Admission Center at Mustard Hall. Parking is available in designated spaces in the Lunder Parking Lot or Knight Parking Lot. When you arrive, please see the receptionist in the admission office for a parking permit. Click here for information on getting to campus.

Join Babson’s own Head Strength and Conditioning Coach  for a training program which will heighten mental and physical fortitude through flexibility, balance, coordination, conditioning, strength, power and agility drills, exercises and routines.

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Wellness - Power Yoga
Power vinyasa yoga builds physical and mental strength and flexibility. Find your mind body connection as you link breath to movement in a fast-paced, energizing class taught by Lindsey Athanasiou, National Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Instructor (RYT 200). This class is accessible to most levels of fitness. Prior experience with yoga is recommended but not required.

This method of yoga has many benefits because it combat stress by utilizing both the mind and the body. The SavSani Mind, silences and redirects the mind to become calm and effective in this world of over-stimulation and stress. The SavSani Body technique brings the body to its ultimate strength and correct alignment by removing any aliments felt within.

Who:    Any employee who wants to de-stress the mind and body through the generation of energy!!

When: Each Wednesday beginning, Wednesday, January 13, 2016 and ending Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 12:00-1:00pm in the Glavin Chapel.

12:15 PM - 1:00 PM Wellness - Runners Training Series

Would you like to take your running to the next level?

This 8-week training series is designed specifically to meet the needs of runners. The goal of the series is to enhance each participant’s running efficiency, strength and speed. All levels of runners are welcome. Each participant will work from their individual fitness level. The workouts will be tailored to meet the needs and fitness abilities of the participants. 

Workouts will begin with a short warm-up run, and then will vary in content. Examples of workout content includes: speed work, hill work and strength and endurance exercises specific to a runner’s needs.

Finalists of the 2016 B.E.T.A. Challenge will present their ventures to the community. The Blank Center's B.E.T.A. (Babson Entrepreneurial Thought and Action®) Challenge recognizes major milestones Babson businesses have achieved by taking action.

CWEL's Women Innovating Now (WIN) Lab is partnering with Babson FoodSol for a Quick Service Incubator event featuring Gail Simmons, trained culinary expert, food writer, and judge on Bravo TV's "Top Chef”. She will be joined by Nancy Cushman, Co-Proprietor and Sake Sommelier at o ya, acclaimed Japanese restaurant in Boston; Karen Akunowicz, Executive Chef & Partner at Myers & Chang and "Top Chef" Contestant and James Beard Nominee; and Susan Lacz, Partner & CEO at Ridgewells Catering, a Washington DC-based catering company that works with clients like the House of Representatives and the U.S. Open.
