6:30 AM - 7:20 AM Wellness-Advanced Core Bootcamp (ACBC)

ACBC is a 50 minute, two day a week advanced conditioning program that focuses on reaching levels of fitness beyond what a standard Boot Camp will typically yield. Many of the techniques are direct from Kevin Kearns’ "Burn With Kearns" MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) conditioning program. Instructors Sonny Romano and Christy Bishal will utilize many of the training techniques used by professional UFC/MMA fighters. The class is a challenge but a lot of fun and as a bonus attendees will learn the basics of defending themselves while they get into tremendous physical condition.

Who:   Any Babson employee who is looking to take their workout to the next level.

When: Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30-7:20am beginning on Monday, January 5, 2015 and ending on Wednesday, May 13, 2015.

How:   Participants may attend class as often as they would like.  Those interested in participating should register through the Babson Calendar Advanced Bootcamp event (we would like to be able to notify participants of any changes or cancellations that may arise).

ALL ARE WELCOME

Refreshments will be served

In honor of Women's History month, please join us in welcoming Florence Reed. In 1997, Reed founded Sustainable Harvest International (SHI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to working with rural Central American communities to implement sustainable land-use practices. As President of the organization, Reed divides her time between helping shape the future of programs in Central America and gathering resources in the United States, bringing together farmers, donors, volunteers, researchers and others to create a better future.

This presentation begins with a look at the global and local impacts of unsustainable farming practices in the tropics. It then focuses on Sustainable Harvest International’s unique and successful model for reversing this harmful trend.  The talk goes on to show how this simple approach helps to alleviate poverty, improve health, reverse deforestation, mitigate global climate change, reduce pollution, and much more.
