Wellness - Stress Rescue Workshop

The workshop is held from 12-1 pm, and will be taught by Jordan Bain a Certified Modern Mystery School Guide & Healer and the Owner of Healing Boston, located in Auburndale, MA. He is passionate about exploring and sharing the best systems available for personal and planetary transformation. Since 2004, he has helped thousands of people awaken their potential and accelerate their learning curve in the school of life.

The workshop will guide participants to learn how to better handle and manage stress, come to a better understanding of the sources of stress, create a positive plan to harness stress for enhanced creativity, create win-win interpersonal and internal resolution of stress and gain an understanding of resources available to go on and do additional services outside of the seminar.

A student-guided tour is a wonderful way to see Babson’s extensive facilities (including a residence hall, classroom, and dining hall), talk with current students, and see our community in action. 

Pre-registration is not required. Tours depart from the Lunder Admission Center at Mustard Hall. Parking is available in designated spaces in the Lunder Parking Lot or Knight Parking Lot. 120 empty bowls to make a difference. Join Sorenson Scholar Matt Hard ‘17 in a discussion about hunger and the impact it has on families and communities. Share a meal and purchase your own Empty Bowl, hand-crafted by Matt, as a reminder of the bowls you helped fill. All proceeds will be donated to a local food bank.

Join Babson’s own Head Strength and Conditioning Coach  for a training program which will heighten mental and physical fortitude through flexibility, balance, coordination, conditioning, strength, power and agility drills, exercises and routines.

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Wellness - Power Yoga
Power vinyasa yoga builds physical and mental strength and flexibility. Find your mind body connection as you link breath to movement in a fast-paced, energizing class taught by Lindsey Athanasiou, National Yoga Alliance Certified Yoga Instructor (RYT 200). This class is accessible to most levels of fitness. Prior experience with yoga is recommended but not required.

This method of yoga has many benefits because it combat stress by utilizing both the mind and the body. The SavSani Mind, silences and redirects the mind to become calm and effective in this world of over-stimulation and stress. The SavSani Body technique brings the body to its ultimate strength and correct alignment by removing any aliments felt within.

Who:    Any employee who wants to de-stress the mind and body through the generation of energy!!

When: Each Wednesday beginning, Wednesday, January 13, 2016 and ending Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 12:00-1:00pm in the Glavin Chapel.

12:15 PM - 1:00 PM Wellness - Runners Training Series

Would you like to take your running to the next level?

This 8-week training series is designed specifically to meet the needs of runners. The goal of the series is to enhance each participant’s running efficiency, strength and speed. All levels of runners are welcome. Each participant will work from their individual fitness level. The workouts will be tailored to meet the needs and fitness abilities of the participants. 

Workouts will begin with a short warm-up run, and then will vary in content. Examples of workout content includes: speed work, hill work and strength and endurance exercises specific to a runner’s needs.

Join SOCA (Student Organization for Caribbean Awareness) for an informal conversation highlighting social entrepreneurship and the tech industry for Women's History Month
 

Nikita T. Mitchell is a Senior Manager at Cisco where she is responsible for strategy and planning initiatives for the company’s $20B Americas Sales organization. She started her career at Deloitte Consulting and gained a reputation for her ability to drive executive-level conversations for long-term strategic planning. Motivated by the need to further her social impact, Nikita took her expertise to the nonprofit sector as a
ProInspire Fellow before launching a career in tech. 

Nikita earned her MBA from UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business and BBA from Howard University. At Haas, she was the MBA Association’s first Black female president, a leader for the Haas Gender Equity Initiative, a Consortium Liaison and a Principal for the $2.5M Haas Socially Responsible Investment Fund.

Nikita is currently the Oakland City Chair for Walker's Legacy: A Women in Business Collective and a board member for Watermark. For her fierce advocacy for women in business, the Forte Foundation honored Nikita with Edie Hunt Inspiration Award in 2015. When she’s not catching up on a good novel or training for a half-marathon, she shares her reflections on diversity in tech and professional development at nikitatmitchell.com.
