All Day Cast: New Work by Pat Falco (Multi-Day Event)

Artist Talk and Reception: Thursday, February 2, 5:00 P.M.
Exhibit on View: February 2–March 30
Hollister Gallery

A keen observer of the world around him, Pat Falco uses a street art graphic drawing style and hand-printed text to reflect with honesty and wit on both social and personal issues. He chooses mis-tinted paints and found objects for his art surfaces, because, as he says, “I’d like not to make more waste than is already here.” Consumer culture, interpersonal relationships, the art world, our current political climate, heartbreak, gentrification, socioeconomic stratification, and fear of failure are a just a few of the themes where he mines incongruities for humor and pathos.

12:00 PM - 12:45 PM Wellness - Come as You Are Tai Chi
Tai Chi is a gentle exercise for body and mind.  With its roots in Chinese martial arts and traditional Chinese medicine, Tai Chi uses slow and gentle movements to build your balance, strength, flexibility and focus.  No matter your age or physical condition, you can practice Tai Chi.  Scientific studies support the effectiveness of Tai Chi in improving the lives of people with chronic conditions, such as arthritis, diabetes, and osteoporosis.  Most of all, Tai Chi is relaxing and fun.  So come as you are, in comfortable clothes, with flat-soled shoes.  You will learn the basic principles of Tai Chi as well as exercises and a short form you will be able to practice on your own.  The course will be taught by faculty member Carolyn Hotchkiss, who has studied Yang and Sun style Tai Chi for five years, and is certified to teach Tai Chi for Arthritis.

2017 Division III Men’s Basketball National Championship

Tuesday, March 28 at 7 p.m.
Staake Gymnasium

The program will include introduction of players, autograph session, music, giveaways and light refreshments.

The Beavers made history by capturing the program's first national championship and the school's fifth overall and first since 1984. Finishing its storied season with an incredible record of 31-2, Babson overcame a 25-point deficit in the national semifinal against previously undefeated and top-ranked Whitman before avenging its 2015 NCAA Final Four loss to Augustana in a thrilling one-point national championship game. We look forward to celebrating this significant accomplishment together as a community.

Directed by Deniz Gamze Ergüven, 2015

Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, Mustang takes place in a village in northern Turkey where the innocent flirtations of five young sisters set off a series of dire consequences. The girls are pulled from school, and the family home is turned into a sort of prison where the sisters are trained to become dutiful and submissive wives. But as this deeply moving story unfolds, their passionate spirits cannot be confined, and one by one, they find ways to break free of their constraints.
