Boot Camp is a 50 minute, two day a week program designed to improve your cardio endurance, build strength and induce weight loss.  The personalized approach to group exercise makes the class fun and motivating in pursuit of results and your personal goals.  Instructor Craig Paris uses a variety of body weight exercises, resistance bands, agility drills, running, and plyometric training to activate multiple muscle groups and burn the maximum amount of calories during class.

A high energy, no impact fitness class that combines work at the ballet barre with light weights to give you a continuous fat burning class. Toning and resistance exercises for the glutes, legs, torso, and arms will sculpt your muscles and elongate the appearance of your body to get you the body you've ALWAYS wanted!  All levels welcome.

This weekly meditation class will be led by Babson’s Meditation Instructor, Rick Landwehr, who will guide participants through a variety of accessible meditation techniques. These simple and direct practices cultivate relaxation, mindfulness, and basic wellbeing. By relaxing tension and opening to our sensory experience through these techniques, participants will learn new means of working with stress, difficult emotions, physical discomfort, and the challenges we encounter in our lives. This class is suitable for any experience level.

5:00 PM - 7:30 PM Community Action Program: Harvard Square Meals

This nonprofit organization operates a community supper each Thursday evening. The mission is to provide a nutritious meal in a hospitable environment to anyone who needs a meal. Babson students will serve about 100 meals to those in need and help clean up afterwards.

Thursdays, 5:15-7:30 pm. Babson students will leave campus around 4:30 pm and return around 8:15 pm.

As part of Babson’s mission to educate entrepreneurial leaders who create great economic and social value everywhere, the BELA program strives to bring entrepreneurship where it's needed most - both globally and locally. Teaching the basics of ET&A™, Babson students educate members of the Boys and Girls club by breaking down concepts to a more digestible level for younger students.

This program leaves at 5pm, and returns at 8:30pm.

Lauren Shaffer found yoga in 2011 as a stressed out college student in need of a calm and quiet spot to unwind. As a teacher, her mission is to provide students with a safe, sacred space with her guidance, knowledge and tools offered as support. She loves to teach a variety of classes from restorative to power, all of which tie breath with movement to a well thought out and sequenced flow. She includes the solid backbones of the practice—like functional movement and energetic organization—always presented with lightheartedness as she accommodate all levels. She also loves to bring some fun into her classes. Lauren’s focus is to ensure her students leave with their bodies feeling stronger, as well as a clearer mind helping them take on the rest of their day with a smile!

In a Philadelphia suburb before World War II, Birdy, a very smart young man, spends his time collecting pigeons and canaries for his aviary. His best friend, Al, has more earthly interests like sports and girls, but is attracted to Birdy’s eccentricity, intelligence and commitment to his birds. But after both young men return from the war, they are forced to deal with the trauma of their experiences, both physical and psychological.

Birdy examines the effects of war on young lives, a topic that is just as relevant today as it was decades ago. The story also offers hope in the possibility of powerful friendships to heal the psychological wounds of war after the physical wounds have healed.

St. Patrick's Day Parade and Luncheon with Babson Alumni 

Join members of the Babson community for a fun-filled day in Naples, Florida where we will participate in Florida's largest St. Patrick's Day Parade. We have reserved a trolley for all Babson participants. We'll be meeting an hour before the parade starts to decorate our trolley and mingle. Parade begins at 11 a.m. and lasts approximately two hours. Participants will receive a free Babson parade t-shirt. 

A luncheon hosted by Kathy '87 and Greg Faulkner MBA'86 at their Naples home will immediately follow the parade. 

If you cannot make the parade, please feel free to register for just the luncheon!

A combination of cardio and strength exercise using different equipment options to keep you on your toes. There is no set format. Every class is different with half of the class time dedicated to cardio exercises and half the class time dedicated to strength exercises. Babson’s own Donna Sosnowski will lead and challenge you to new heights in your workouts.

Tai Chi is a gentle exercise for body and mind.  With its roots in Chinese martial arts and traditional Chinese medicine, Tai Chi uses slow and gentle movements to build your balance, strength, flexibility and focus.  No matter your age or physical condition, you can practice Tai Chi.  Scientific studies support the effectiveness of Tai Chi in improving the lives of people with chronic conditions, such as arthritis, diabetes, and osteoporosis.  Most of all, Tai Chi is relaxing and fun.  So come as you are, in comfortable clothes, with flat-soled shoes.  You will learn the basic principles of Tai Chi as well as exercises and a short form you will be able to practice on your own.

The Zumba® program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away. Originally created by Alberto “Beto” Perez in Columbia, Zumba® is a Latin inspired dance fitness class that combines interval training sessions with fast and slow rhythms to sculpt and tone your body while burning fat.  Our goal is simple: We want you to want to work out, to love working out, and to get hooked.  Zumba® fanatics achieve long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in every calorie-burning, body-energizing class.  This class is perfect for all fitness levels and no dance experience is necessary!

Zumba®Toning - For those who want to party, but put extra emphasis on toning and sculpting to define those muscles!  It works by utilizing the challenge of adding resistance by using Zumba®Toning Sticks or light weights, which helps you focus on specific muscle groups, so you (and your muscles) stay engaged!  By using lightweight maraca-like toning sticks or light weights, Zumba Toning enhances sense of rhythm and coordination, while toning target zones, including arms, core and lower body.

Power vinyasa yoga builds physical and mental strength and flexibility. Find your mind body connection as you link breath to movement in a fast-paced, energizing class. 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM DEALING WITH DIFFICULT PERSONALITIES

It’s going to happen, if it hasn’t already. There will be a peer, a manager, or someone you support that’s just difficult to work with. This course profiles multiple difficult “types” and the negative impacts they can have on others. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual exercise that has been known to increase flexibility, strengthen muscles and provide relaxation.  Join Dawn George as she takes you through a series of slow yoga poses to help you relax and unwind from the stress of the day.  This class is perfect for all fitness levels and no experience is necessary.

During tax season, students from Babson College assist families with preparations to help file their taxes three times a week.
3:30 PM - 5:30 PM Community Action Program: Barton Road After School Program

The Barton Road Afterschool Program takes place at the Wellesley Housing Authority. A housing authority is section 8 housing, a state or federally funded program aimed to assist low-income families pay for rent. The Afterschool Programs focus on providing mentorship through after school homework help, as well as providing activities that are both safe and fun for the children who live at the Housing Authorities. 

Mondays and Wednesdays, 3:30-5:30 pm. Babson students will leave campus around 3:15 pm and return around 5:45 pm.

A combination of cardio and strength exercise using different equipment options to keep you on your toes. There is no set format. Every class is different with half of the class time dedicated to cardio exercises and half the class time dedicated to strength exercises. Babson’s own Donna Sosnowski will lead and challenge you to new heights in your workouts.

6:30 AM - 7:20 AM Wellness - Beginner/Intermediate Boot Camp
Boot Camp is a 50 minute, two day a week program designed to improve your cardio endurance, build strength and induce weight loss.  The personalized approach to group exercise makes the class fun and motivating in pursuit of results and your personal goals.  Instructor Craig Paris uses a variety of body weight exercises, resistance bands, agility drills, running, and plyometric training to activate multiple muscle groups and burn the maximum amount of calories during class.

12:00 PM - 12:45 PM Wellness - “Come as You Are” Tai Chi
Tai Chi is a gentle exercise for body and mind.  With its roots in Chinese martial arts and traditional Chinese medicine, Tai Chi uses slow and gentle movements to build your balance, strength, flexibility and focus.  No matter your age or physical condition, you can practice Tai Chi.  Scientific studies support the effectiveness of Tai Chi in improving the lives of people with chronic conditions, such as arthritis, diabetes, and osteoporosis.  Most of all, Tai Chi is relaxing and fun.  So come as you are, in comfortable clothes, with flat-soled shoes.  You will learn the basic principles of Tai Chi as well as exercises and a short form you will be able to practice on your own.

The Zumba® program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away. Originally created by Alberto “Beto” Perez in Columbia, Zumba® is a Latin inspired dance fitness class that combines interval training sessions with fast and slow rhythms to sculpt and tone your body while burning fat.  Our goal is simple: We want you to want to work out, to love working out, and to get hooked.  Zumba® fanatics achieve long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in every calorie-burning, body-energizing class.  This class is perfect for all fitness levels and no dance experience is necessary!

Power vinyasa yoga builds physical and mental strength and flexibility. Find your mind body connection as you link breath to movement in a fast-paced, energizing class. 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM The Business of Podcasting
Since "Serial" debuted in 2014, there has been a sharp increase in the number and variety of podcasts available to consumers.  There are now multiple platforms through which creators can launch their work and a wide variety of mechanisms through which creators can make profits.  Furthermore, associated industries, such as conventions, consulting, and media about podcasts has blossomed.  This panel discussion, moderated by Arts and Humanities Division Senior Lecturer Kerry Rourke, brings to Babson three entrepreneurs and an analyst who have been successful in this dynamic landscape: Rebecca Lavoie and Kevin Flynn of Partners in Crime Media; Patrick Hinds of Theater Podcast Productions; and Nicholas Quah, creator of the Hot Pod industry newsletter.  Panelists will share their stories of moving from an idea to a media product, competing in this growing and changing industry landscape, and current and future trends in podcasting.
