6:00 AM - 7:15 AM Wellness-Masters Swim
The Babson Masters Swim Program is a swim program for adults.  Some people use it for fitness or to have fun, while others use it to train to compete in swim meets or other competitions such as triathlons.  Each practice is guided by a swim coach, and instruction and feedback are offered to participants.

6:30 AM - 7:20 AM Wellness-Beginner/Intermediate Bootcamp

Boot Camp is a 50 minute, two day a week program designed to improve your cardio endurance, build strength and induce weight loss.  The personalized approach to group exercise makes the class fun and motivating in pursuit of results and your personal goals.  Instructor Craig Paris uses a variety of body weight exercises, resistance bands, agility drills, running, and plyometric training to activate multiple muscle groups and burn the maximum amount of calories during class.

Who:   Any Babson employee who is looking to take their workout to the next level.  Please note that class is appropriate for those just beginning as well as those who have nuary participated before.

When: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30-7:20am beginning on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 and ending on Thursday, May 14, 2015.

How:   Participants may attend class as often as they would like.  Those interested in participating should register through the Babson Calendar Bootcamp event (we would like to be able to notify participants of any changes or cancellations that may arise).

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Undergraduate Admission Tour
A student-guided tour is a wonderful way to see Babson’s extensive facilities (including a residence hall, classroom, and dining hall), talk with current students, and see our community in action. 

Pre-registration is not required. Tours depart from the Lunder Admission Center at Mustard Hall. Parking is available in designated spaces in the Lunder Parking Lot or Knight Parking Lot. When you arrive, please see the receptionist in the admission office for a parking permit. Click here for information on getting to campus.

10:30 AM - 11:00 AM Adult Learn To Skate--Winter Session (Tuesday at 10:30am)
Adult Learn to Skate (LTS) – Ages 18 and older: 30 minute class: Beginner through Freestyle 3 Level.

*Participants are divided based upon skating ability & Age.

*We DO NOT guarantee that siblings and/or friends will be in the same class.

*Please arrive early to allow time to secure skates and find your instructor.

*Helmets are strongly recommended for beginners.

*Dress appropriately with layers and gloves or mittens.

*Properly fitted, supportive skates are essential to progress.

*Figure skates are recommended for beginners.

*No REFUNDS and No CREDITS without a doctor’s note.               

*No MAKE-UP classes.

*Classes may be cancelled, added, or combined due to enrollment.

*Same-day registrations will NOT be accepted.

*In the event of inclement weather, or rink closure, no refunds will be issued

*Classes are held on most school and religious holidays.

*A parent/guardian must remain in the facility during classes.

12:00 PM - 12:45 PM Wellness-Tai Chi
Tai Chi is a gentle exercise for body and mind.  With its roots in Chinese martial arts and traditional Chinese medicine, Tai Chi uses slow and gentle movements to build your balance, strength, flexibility and focus.  No matter your age or physical condition, you can practice Tai Chi.  Scientific studies support the effectiveness of Tai Chi in improving the lives of people with chronic conditions, such as arthritis, diabetes, and osteoporosis.  Most of all, Tai Chi is relaxing and fun.  So come as you are, in comfortable clothes, with flat-soled shoes.  You will learn the basic principles of Tai Chi as well as exercises and a short form you will be able to practice on your own.  The course will be taught by faculty member Carolyn Hotchkiss, who has studied Yang and Sun style Tai Chi for five years, and is certified to teach Tai Chi for Arthritis.

The Zumba® program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away. Originally created by Alberto “Beto” Perez in Columbia, Zumba® is a Latin inspired dance fitness class that combines interval training sessions with fast and slow rhythms to sculpt and tone your body while burning fat.  Our goal is simple: We want you to want to work out, to love working out, and to get hooked.  Zumba® fanatics achieve long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in every calorie-burning, body-energizing class.  This class is perfect for all fitness levels and no dance experience is necessary!

12:15 PM - 1:15 PM Wellness-Stress and Your Health Seminar

An absolute key health tool is training yourself in stress management. We all have stressors in our lives. It is how we interact with those stressors, and manage our stress, that can make the difference between health & disease.

That’s right. Unmanaged stress is likely the largest contributing factor toward many health issues, including biggies like heart disease and cancer. And none of us want any of that, so let’s talk about some important, foundational information to build health and create more joy & balance in our lives.

Join us for an hour of education that will give you some tools to get started with managing that inevitable stress, and a whole new lens through which to look at both health and chronic health issues. Education is empowerment. Let’s get to it!
