7:00 AM - 8:00 AM Wellness-Power Yoga with Lauren Shaffer

Lauren Shaffer found yoga in 2011 as a stressed out college student in need of a calm and quiet spot to unwind. As a teacher, her mission is to provide students with a safe, sacred space with her guidance, knowledge and tools offered as support. She loves to teach a variety of classes from restorative to power, all of which tie breath with movement to a well thought out and sequenced flow. She includes the solid backbones of the practice—like functional movement and energetic organization—always presented with lightheartedness as she accommodate all levels. She also loves to bring some fun into her classes. Lauren’s focus is to ensure her students leave with their bodies feeling stronger, as well as a clearer mind helping them take on the rest of their day with a smile!

Ever experience low-trust with someone you need to work with? The negative implications, such as ongoing tension and avoidance, can be substantial!

Speed of Trust Foundations, designed by Stephen M.R. Covey, helps you build, repair, and maintain trust (and accelerate the speed at which you do so) with your manager, colleagues, and customers. Discover how trust is essential to maximize success in your role and for any high–performing work environment.

Topics covered in this two-part workshop include:

  • learn 13 behaviors needed to develop, restore, and extend trust
  • identify and address your “trust gaps”
  • practice communicating honestly, respectfully, and directly
  • create a trust action-plan to apply learnings back on the job

7:30 PM Universe Rushing Apart: Blue Kettle and Here We Go
Commonalties with a surrealist bent are explored in two one-acts by renowned playwright Caryl Churchill. In Blue Kettle, anxieties emerge and language is tested when a troubled man claims to be the long lost son of several different women.  In Here We Go a funeral party for a man with an adventurous past forces a group of women to capture flickering moments of their own lives as they grapple with their own mortality.

Running time:100 minutes with one intermission.
