All Day The Caprichos: Etchings by Emily Lombardo (Multi-Day Event)

The Caprichos is a series of etchings that are in direct conversation with and pay homage to Francisco Goya’s “Los Caprichos” of 1799. Both reveal the dark underbelly of cultural movements that ultimately serve to divide society across economic, racial, political, religious, and gender lines. Lombardo, an artist who investigates personal and cultural identity in her work, brings these issues to light through a queer feminist lens.

6:30 AM - 7:20 AM Wellness - Beginner/Intermediate Boot Camp
Boot Camp is a 50 minute, two day a week program designed to improve your cardio endurance, build strength and induce weight loss.  The personalized approach to group exercise makes the class fun and motivating in pursuit of results and your personal goals.  Instructor Craig Paris uses a variety of body weight exercises, resistance bands, agility drills, running, and plyometric training to activate multiple muscle groups and burn the maximum amount of calories during class.

Join Babson’s own Head Strength and Conditioning Coach  for a training program which will heighten mental and physical fortitude through flexibility, balance, coordination, conditioning, strength, power and agility drills, exercises and routines.

A high energy, no impact fitness class that combines work at the ballet barre with light weights to give you a continuous fat burning class.  Toning and resistance exercises for the glutes, legs, torso and arms will sculpt your muscles and elongate the appearance of your body to get you the body you’ve ALWAYS wanted.  All levels welcome.

12:30 PM - 2:00 PM Kate Chertavian: Art Dealer and Entrepreneur

Kate Chertavian is an independent art dealer and curator whose projects include, among others, curation of the collection of the late music legend David Bowie. While building collections for private clients, she has also curated and organized exhibitions in London, Switzerland, and Italy and facilitated significant acquisitions for collectors in Europe and the United States. She is also co-founder, with her husband, of Year Up, a nonprofit organization that trains low-income youth for college or careers.

Have you ever wondered what a social fraternity or sorority was? Maybe you thought about joining but weren’t sure how. You might even have had some concerns! Come join representatives of Babson’s seven social fraternities and sororities as their members discuss the many benefits and dispel many myths of making lifelong connections through personal and professional bonds that span the Globe. Students will discuss their own experiences in recruitment, membership, and alumni networking as well as answer any information you have. Food will be provided.

5:15 PM - 7:30 PM Community Action Program: Harvard Square Meals

This nonprofit organization operates a community supper each Thursday evening. The mission is to provide a nutritious meal in a hospitable environment to anyone who needs a meal. Babson students will serve about 100 meals to those in need and help clean up afterwards.

Thursdays, 5:15-7:30 pm. Babson students will leave campus around 4:30 pm and return around 8:15 pm.

In Vinyasa-style yoga, “Ujjayi” breath is connected to movement which creates a flow of poses that encourages relaxation in the body as well as awareness of the mind. This class will shift your focus from everyday life to present physical sensations. The poses will strengthen, detoxify, and open the body, leaving you feeling toned, invigorated, and inspired.
