All Day First Year Service and Action Program (Multi-Day Event)
The First-Year Service in Action Program engages students in their first year in multiple service opportunities on campus. Opportunities include special events with Community Action Programs, participating in the Jimmy Fund Walk in Boston, and other programs sponsored by the Bernon Center. Students can get involved through their First-Year Seminar class, by contacting their class dean, or by contacting Chris Bourcier at cbourcier@babson.edu or by calling (781) 239-5636.

6:30 AM - 7:20 AM Wellness - Boot Camp
Boot Camp is a 50 minute, two day a week program involving work with agility ladders, medicine balls, resistance bands, and bodyweight.   Every muscle will get a workout.   The instructor, Sonny Romano, will use a variety of exercises to activate multiple muscle groups and burn the maximum amount of calories in the time frame.

A key distinction between effective and ineffective leaders is their ability to increase their self-awareness when it counts. Objectivity is the ability to recognize and accept things as they are without projecting our mental models, past experiences or fears. Objective leaders respond to ongoing business and personal challenges more thoughtfully, deliberately and effectively.  This short webinar presentation will cover four innovative approaches for becoming a more objective leader.

Mark Bertonazzi joined TIAA-CREF in November 2004 and has 20 years of experience in the financial services industry.  He began his career at the Boston Company as a Senior Securities Lender.  Mark then spent 9 years with Fidelity Investments as a Retirement Councilor providing investment products and services to retirement plan participants of Non-Profit organizations.  Prior to joining TIAA-CREF, Mark worked for Charles Schwab as a Marketing Manager.

 Mark graduated from Westfield State College with a BA in Communications.  He holds his Series 7, 6 and 63 Securities Licenses as well as Insurance, Life and Health Licenses.

The seminar will take place on Thursday, November 21st from 12:00 to 1:30 in Reynolds 244.

12:15 PM - 1:00 PM Wellness - Holiday Shape-up

The Bootcamp Holiday Shape-Up is a 5-session training series that will help get you fit, happy and stress-free for the 2013 holiday season! Whether you are looking to release stress, maintain your exercise routine, maintain your weight, run a holiday race, or simply have fun -- this series is for you! 

Training sessions will be approximately 45 minutes; consisting of strength training incorporated into cardiovascular training. After a group warm-up, participants will be divided into groups, and will go through stations of different exercises. Between each station, participants will be walking, jogging or running. Additional group activities may be added, and then the session concludes with a cool-down.

Dennis Hanno will be speaking about what makes Babson students stand out and what he has done personally to build his personal brand that has resulted in a successful career.

3:40 PM - 4:30 PM Hockey Skating Skills - Fall Session (Thursday at 3:40pm)

Our Hockey class is designed to work on the skating skills without sticks. We are working to improve your basic skating edges, speed and power. Some skills/drills may utilize a hockey stick, but the primary focus is without a hockey stick.

 *Skaters are divided up by abilty and age

*We DO NOT guarantee that friends or siblings will have the same teacher

*Plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early

*A parent/guardian MUST remain in the building during any and all classes

*The Babson Skating Center has a NO Refund or Credit policy. In the case of an injury, a Doctors note must be given to recieve a refund or credit

*The Babson Skating Center has a NO MAKE UP policy

*Same Day registration is NOT accepted

*Classes ARE held on most religous holidays

*Classes may be cancelled, added or combined due to enrollment

*The Babson Skating Center does not follow the Babson College cancellation schedule

Learn to Skate (LTS) – Ages 5 and older: 40minute class, 10minute practice following the class: Beginner through Freestyle 3 Level
Learn to Skate+ (LTS+) – Ages 5 and older who have passed the Alpha Level and want to broaden their skills. These classes will incorporate Figures, Moves in the Field and Ice Dance Level 1 into their class: 40minute class. 10 minute practice following the class: Beta through Freestyle 3 Level

*Participants are divided based upon skating ability & Age.
*We DO NOT guarantee that siblings and/or friends will be in the same class.
*Please arrive early to allow time to secure skates and find your instructor.
*Helmets are strongly recommended for beginners.
*Dress appropriately with layers and gloves or mittens.
*Properly fitted, supportive skates are essential to progress.
*Figure skates are recommended for beginners.
*No REFUNDS and No CREDITS without a doctor’s note.               
*No MAKE-UP classes.
*Classes may be cancelled, added, or combined due to enrollment.

Ms. Blanca has more than 25 years of experience in the South Florida real estate sector. She has earned several honors from her peers and leading news outlets, including being named among 2013's “Top 25 Women in Real Estate” by Commercial Property Executive.

Lanugo
Carla is a mother of twin girls, a serial entrepreneur, and a Magna Cum laude graduate of Babson College. Carla currently spends her time on 2 companies co-founded by her and her husband, Roberto Castro. Her latest venture, Lanugo, helps Mamas Latinas embrace and pass the richness of the Hispanic culture on to their children. Lanugo has been featured on CNN en Español, Univision,  Telemundo,  NBC, NBC  Latino, and Mamas Latinas, amongst  other  leading media outlets. 
 
Arlys Raymond '83 - Past Executive Director
Bakehouse Art Complex
Arlys W. Raymond is the former Executive Director of the Bakehouse Art Complex, a 27 year old not -for -profit art institution located in the Wynwood arts district. Last year she developed and implemented the organization's first annual campaign raising over $100,000 in donations and pledges. Prior work experience includes Motorola, Broward Community College and residential real estate. She is a graduate of Babson College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
 
Teresa Weintraub - President & CEO
Fiduciary Trust International
Since 1998, Ms. Weintraub has been President, CEO and member of the Board of Fiduciary Trust International of the South. Ms. Weintraub is a member of The Florida Bar and has lectured extensively in the areas of trusts, estates, charitable gift planning and leadership. In 2009, she received the James W. McLamore Award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals for outstanding volunteerism. In 2011 she and her family received the first Pioneer Award from History Miami.
