All Day First Year Service and Action Program (Multi-Day Event)
The First-Year Service in Action Program engages students in their first year in multiple service opportunities on campus. Opportunities include special events with Community Action Programs, participating in the Jimmy Fund Walk in Boston, and other programs sponsored by the Bernon Center. Students can get involved through their First-Year Seminar class, by contacting their class dean, or by contacting Chris Bourcier at cbourcier@babson.edu or by calling (781) 239-5636.

This agency consists of a food pantry, a clothing closet, a furniture bank and housing for the homeless families. Volunteers assist with a variety of task from yard work to painting to repair on shelters.
8:30 AM - 2:00 PM Babson Launch: Women's Preview Day
Join Graduate Admissions and the Babson Association of Women MBAs (BAWMBA) for a day of exploration. Kick-off your experience with an overview of the graduate program options available to you. Learn about our four MBA programs and two Masters of Science programs through an interactive discussion with graduate admissions and current students. Envision your academic journey by observing a live class. Nourish your mind over lunch with members of the Babson Community and participate in roundtable discussions on topics of interest to you as you explore all Babson has to offer. *Please arrive early to allow time to secure skates and find your instructor.
*Helmets are strongly recommended for beginners.
*Dress appropriately with layers and gloves or mittens.
*Properly fitted, supportive skates are essential to progress.

Please join Chris for meditation every Friday afternoon held in the Glavin family Chapel from 12-1pm

This weekly meditation class will be led by Babson’s Meditation Instructor, Chris Scheller, who will guide participants through a variety of accessible, secular meditation techniques adapted from the Buddhist tradition. These simple and direct practices cultivate relaxation, mindfulness, and basic wellbeing. By relaxing tension and opening to our sensory experience through these techniques, participants will learn new means of working with stress, difficult emotions, physical discomfort, and the challenges we encounter in our lives. This class is suitable for any experience level.

Chris trained to teach meditation at Harvard University, where he received a Master of Divinity degree in 2009. He concentrated his studies on the intersection of meditation and psychology, as well as the history of meditation practices within the Buddhist tradition. He has studied at various ashrams and monasteries in India and the USA including the Tushita Meditation Centre, the Insight Meditation Society, the Zen Peacemakers, and lived and studied at the Cambridge Zen Center.
