Babson Entrepreneurial Leadership Academy (BELA) Winter Break Application Deadline: Oct 17th

As part of Babson's mission to educate entrepreneurial leaders who create great economic and social value everywhere, each January a Babson team of volunteers, including students, staff, faculty, alumni, and friends, travels to the Ganako School in Karatu, Tanzania to teach the BELA program. This one-week, intensive programs, works with approximately 100 high school students, teaching them the basics of ET&A.

In addition to teaching the group will spend 2 days on Safari and will explore the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara National park.

All Day LGBTQ History Month
First celebrated in 1994 in October. It was declared a national History month by President Barack Obama in 2009. The month was created with the intent to encourage openness and education about LGBT history and rights.

A student-guided tour is a wonderful way to see Babson’s extensive facilities (including a residence hall, classroom, and dining hall), talk with current students, and see our community in action. 

Pre-registration is not required. Tours depart from the Lunder Admission Center at Mustard Hall. Parking is available in designated spaces in the Lunder Parking Lot or Knight Parking Lot. Hosted by the admission staff, group information sessions are a great way to learn about Babson. We welcome prospective students and their families to attend a session to learn about Babson’s unique curriculum, student life, and the admission process. 

Information sessions are held in the Lunder Admission Center at Mustard Hall. Parking is available in designated spaces in the Lunder Parking Lot or Knight Parking Lot. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual exercise that has been known to increase flexibility, strengthen muscles and provide relaxation. Join Dawn George as she takes you through a series of slow yoga poses to help you relax and unwind from the stress of the day. This class is perfect for all fitness levels and no experience is necessary.

1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Creative Thinking

We can’t practice Entrepreneurial Thought & Action® without creative thinking!

This fast-paced and fun session will NOT teach you to draw, paint, sing or write a novel.  It WILL teach you to understand the creative process and how to use it to solve problems more easily. When you have limited resources, being creative will help you achieve your goals and have a higher level of job satisfaction. No matter your position in the organization, we all need to solve problems and think creatively!  Join us from 1-3pm on October 17th to learn these important skills.

Presented by High Impact Training's Tracy Knofla.

This program is for faculty and staff only. Participants must register to attend.

7:00 PM - 9:00 PM We the People: The Market Basket Effect
This documentary traces the events that led 25,000 employees and two million customers of the Market Basket grocery chain across New England to stand behind embattled CEO Arthur T. Demoulas. Ultimately he was able to wrest control of the multibillion dollar grocery empire from an activist board of directors led by his cousin, Arthur S. Demoulas.The film screening will be introduced by Babson professor Peter Cohan, whose interviews are featured in the film. Presented in partnership with the Management Division
