When Australian woman Taryn Brumfitt posted an unconventional before-and-after photo (celebrating body diversity) on Facebook in 2013 it was shared worldwide and seen by more than 100 million people.

The overwhelming response inspired Taryn to learn more about the global issue of body loathing. She launched a Kickstarter campaign in 2014 to produce a documentary film. Her campaign was supported by nearly 9,000 Kickstarter donors who pledged more than $330,000. Babson College's Center for Women's Entrepreneurial Leadership (CWEL) was proudly one of the first corporate-level sponsors of the project.

Released in 2016, the documentary "Embrace" follows Taryn’s crusade as she traverses the globe talking to experts, women in the street and well-known personalities about the alarming rates of body image issues that are seen in people of all body types. In her effervescent style, Taryn explores the factors contributing to this problem and seeks to find solutions.

Embrace had its world premiere at the 2016 Sydney Film Festival, where it was chosen as one of the festival directors’ top 5 picks. It was released in the US in September, 2016.

"Our body is not an ornament but a vehicle, says Taryn Brumffit, whose life-endorsing documentary is a surprisingly moving experience. Surprising because the film canvasses issues far beyond the superficial stories about Photoshop, skinny supermodels and unattainable beauty. In her debut film, Bruffit, who garnered attention with arresting before and after photographs of herself posted on social media, has created an inspiring work in which the different ideals of beauty are explored."
